Ukraine sees a 34% drop in steel product exports to Egypt

The RBC Ukraine information agency reported that in the first nine months of this year Ukraine’s steel product exports to Egypt declined by 34.5% YoY from 1.139 million tons to 746,000 tons, valued at $361 million, down by 7.2% YoY.
Specifically, during the period in question, Ukraine’s exports to Egypt of semi-efinished steel products went down by about 35% YoY from 773,000 tons to 503,000 tons, valued at $227, up from $255 million in January to September 2009. Meanwhile, in the given period, Ukraine's exports of flat rolled steel products increased in value from $44 million to $48 million, while its exports of rebar rose in value to $52 million from $31 million.
