ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih celebrating 2 successful years of continuous casting


The beginning of August marked an eventful period at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, as the Ukrainian plant not only celebrated its 79th anniversary, but also 2 successful years of continuous casting.

The continuous casting department and facilities started operating in 2011, to fulfill the obligations undertaken as part of Kryvyi Rih’s sales and purchase agreement signed in October 2005. The project required a total investment of $120 million.

In the first seven months of the current year the crude steel production at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, the Ukrainian subsidiary of the global steel giant ArcelorMittal, totaled 3.6678 million metric tons, up by 0.22% YoY.

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih crude steel output increase in January-May 2013

In the January-May period of the current year the crude steel production of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, the Ukrainian subsidiary of the global steel giant ArcelorMittal, totaled 2.587 million tons, up by 1.5% YoY.
In addition, in the first five months of the year ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih saw a 11.4% increase YoY in its finished steel output to 2.407 million tons, while its pig iron production increased by 0.9% YoY to 2.249 million tons.
In May alone crude steel production at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih decreased by 0.6% to 499,200 tons, output of finished steel went up by 12.8% to 450,700 tons and production of pig iron moved down by 2.3% to 432,700 tons, all on YoY basis. (SteelGuru)

ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih increased finish roll product in January-May 2013

ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, Ukraine's biggest steel producer, raised finished roll production by 11.9% YoY in January-May to 2.417 million tons.
Crude steel production grew by 1.8% to 2.595 million tons and pig iron was up by 0.9% to 2.249 million tons.
The company produced 464,000 tons of roll, 504,000 tons of crude steel and 432,000 tons of pig iron in May alone.
ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih specializes in long products, in particular rebar and wire rod. Finished roll production grew by 13.3% in 2012 to 5.59 million tons. (SteelGuru)
