It is reported that the price rally continued this week and most of products added up to $100 per ton bringing back the memories of first half of 2008.
Most CIS billets producers had in mind a price idea of $540 per ton to $550 per ton FOB Black Sea when the week started but even to their surprise just in 5 days offers climbed to $595 per ton to $600 per ton FOB
As per market players, these levels are likely to be accepted in the coming week.
It is learnt that rebars from Ukraine, namely from ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, were offered at a price not lower than $ 620 per ton FOB ST Black Sea.
But the situation on the market is quite strange. There is a demand, but April production seems to be allocated and producers do not hurry to offer May watching billets dynamics. So, the indicated level of $620 per ton is quite theoretical and there are just no volumes.
All increases have been determined by the run of the raw materials, with scrap acting as front runner. Prices in Turkey have reached the $450 per ton CFR FO and are still edging up targeting the $500 per ton. Buyers are actively trying to buy as much quantities as possible in the attempt of anticipating further increases. (Steelprices-Europe)

Russian and Ukrainian producers rise their export prices for April
It is reported that steelmaking companies in Russia and Ukraine increase their export prices for HRC and CRC of April production. The reason is problems with raw materials supplies and their high prices.
The growth for hot-rolled coils made $40 per ton. Hot-rolled coils of April production are sold for export at $605 per ton to $655 per ton FOB.
Cold-rolled coils price increase is $55 per ton. Its export price for April production reached $730 per ton FOB to $745 per ton FOB. (ugmk.info)

Billet prices FOB Back Sea in constant flux
It is reported that in the end of October beginning of November prices for Russian and Ukrainian billets increased a bit, coming to the level of USD 390 per tonne to USD 400 FOB per tonne in comparison to USD 380 FOB per tonne to USD 390 FOB per tonne in the mid October.
This increase didn’t met an opposition from semis consumers in Turkey local mills used rise for billet to lift their rebar prices from previous USD 445 FOB per tonne to USD 455 FOB per tonne to USD 450 FOB per tonne to USD 465 FOB per tonne.
But working levels of price have again reduced by about USD 10 per tonne to USD 15 per tonne this week. Although sellers are quoting USD 390 per tonne to USD 400 per tonne FOB levels, there are proposals at lower levels close to USD 380USD per tonne.
Taking into account the current state of demand we think that “offer” price indication will come closer to current “Low”.
As well as general outlook looks quite negative, surely in terms of general trend, not a rapid fall down.
The same situation is for finished longs that lost USD 10 per tonne too. The most part of local producers now offer rebars for export at USD 430 per tonne to USD 440 per tonne and WRC at USD 440 per tonne to USD 450 per tonne on FOB basis. (steelprices-india.com)
