Ukrainian steel output expected to grow by 7% in 2011

According to Metallurgprom, Ukrainian iron and steel producers’ association, Ukrainian producers are likely to increase iron and steel production by 6% in 2011 compared to 2010 and finished steel products production is planned to increase by 7%.
Forecast of steel companies is even more optimistic - pig iron production - growth by 12%, steel smelting - by 13%, finished steel - by 16%.
As for 2010 results, in accordance with data of Metallurgprom, growth of pig iron production compared to 2009 is 7% to 27.354 million tons, steel smelting is a 10% increase to 32.726 million tons, finished products would also see a 10% rise to 30.680 million tons. (Ugmk.info)
