Ukraine lowers refractories output in January-April 2014

In January-April Ukrainian refractory manufacturers produced 98.2 thousand tons of refractory materials, down by 7% YoY.

The decrease in production was due to the lack of orders from local metal companies.

Some refractory companies are in difficult financial state. For example Chasov Yar Refractory Works has no means to pay for gas and salary, and yet it continues working and sends its products to warehouses because of the lack of orders. (Ukrainian metal)
