In 2013 Ukraine decreased metal imports

In 2013 Ukraine imported 1687 thousand tons of rolled metal, down by 5.3% YoY, 13 thousand tons of pig iron, down by 61.8%, and 164 thousand tons of ferroalloys, down by 1.2% YoY.

In comparison with 2012 the following changes in imports volumes have taken place: Ukraine imported 10.7% less of long rolled products and decreased imports of semi-finished products by 77.4%, at the same time increasing sheet imports by 22.9%.

This increase was mainly due to the rise of hot-rolled sheet imports by 34% and flats with coating by 23%. (Ukrainian metal)
