Ukraine to produce 2.5 million tons of steel in June 2014

Metallurgprom expects steel output in June to be on the level of 2.45 million tons. Metal companies also plan to produce 2.35 million tons of pig iron and 2.2 million tons of rolled metal.

For this they would need 640 thousand tons of sinter ore, 1470 thousand tons of concentrate, 475 thousand tons of sinter, 575 thousand tons of pellets, 945 thousand tons of limestone, 1120 thousand tons of metallurgical coke and 330 thousand tons of scrap metal.

Iron ore raw materials and limestone demand will be covered by domestic manufacturers. But some products would have to be imported: 100 thousand tons of sinter ore, 25 thousand tons of pellets and 150 thousand tons of concentrate. Coke will be supplied by local companies. (Ukrainian metal)
