The companies also plan to produce 2.47 million
tons of pig iron and 2.25 million tons of rolled metal, up by 5.1% and 2.3%
respectively.
An average daily pig iron output in July is
forecast at 79.7 thousand tons (78.3 thousand in June), that of steel – 81.3
thousand tons (81.7) and pig iron – 72.6 (73.3 thousand tons).
In May metal companies received 320 thousand
tons of scrap metal, down by 29% of the total volume needed, and 1.38 million
tons in 5 months (down by 24% and 26% of the total needed and YoY
respectively).
In order to produce the target volumes in July
metal companies would need 640 thousand tons of sinter ore, 1.73 million tons
of concentrate, 410 thousand tons of sinter, 520 thousand tons of pellets, 940
thousand tons of limestone, 1.18 million tons of metallurgical coke and 310
thousand tons of scrap metal.
In January-May Ukraine produced 12.01 million
tons of pig iron, down by 1% YoY, 12.9 million tons of steel, down by 7% YoY,
and 11.38 million tons of rolled metal, down by 7% YoY.
May
witnessed the best results from the beginning of the year: 2.59 million tons of
pig iron, 2.82 million tons of steel and 2.44 million tons of rolled metal. (Ukrainian metal)
